A few years back we walked into a work shop in Byron Bay that would forever change the way we lived. Learning that the products we were using around our house and on our children were proven to cause many of today’s illnesses made us question a lot about what we have been told by “professionals”. We had just lost a Grandparent to asbestos poising, a loss that had a profound impact on our whole family, if a fit vibrant man could so quickly succumb to a substance that was once deemed non toxic what chemicals were we currently exposing our family to that was causing long term damage? This was our line in the sand moment to start consciously caring for ourselves, our family and our planet chemically free.

The Green Rebellion Was Started To Honour The Memory Of Jamey’s Pop
The Green Rebellion is a movement that was started to honour the memory of Jamey's Pop, Billy Hogan, who tragically lost his life due to asestos poisoning. As a result of this devastating experience, Jamey and her family were compelled to take action in order to prevent similar tragedies from occurring.
Billy Hogan was a hardworking man who spent most of his career working as a tradesman in the construction industry. Like many others in his profession, he was exposed to asbestos, a highly toxic mineral that was commonly used in construction materials during the 20th century. Unfortunately, the dangers of asbestos were not widely known at the time, and workers like Billy were not provided with the necessary protective gear or training to minimize their exposure.
As a result, Bill developed mesothelioma, a rare and deadly form of cancer that is directly linked to asbestos exposure. Despite undergoing numerous treatments, he eventually succumbed to the disease, leaving behind his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Jamey and her family were understandably devastated by the loss of their beloved patriarch. However, rather than simply accepting his death as an unfortunate tragedy, they decided to take action. They founded The Green Rebellion, a movement aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of chemicals.
